I’d look, but I’m not allowed:

Your organization’s Internet use policy restricts access to this web page at this time.

    Reason:

The Websense category “Adult Content” is filtered.

    URL:

    http://www.bedoper.com/bedoper/2005/thirtyfirst.htm

…not real sure why it should be “adult,” but I have observed other mischaracterizations by Websense before.

  2. Sandwich Boy Says:

It’s either from ‘Crapdot.org’ (an extended Goatse troll), or the political stuff on the site.

    Bastards!

  3. Simon Says:

    Another nice article. Thanks

  4. MYOB Says:

Websense’d here also. Same category, as its the same software.

  5. Deej Says:

Maybe from these words on the side of the page:

    Better Than Bad Sex:
    BeUnited.org

    ?

But if that’s the case, you can no longer view the comments here. :P

“Better Than Bad Sex” — that may be it…

I don’t think websense updates through the web so quickly as to catch your comment yet. It probably also has some sense to figure out that your comment is minor content, but the large text size on bedoper might throw it off.

I think the whole webfilter thing is just so management can say they have done something to minimize any possibility of a “hostile work environment” in case someone sues for sexual discrimination.

Most of the web is wide open here, so it has very little to do with productivity.

  7. MYOB Says:

Websense doesn’t do dynamic content matching, capoccia. It works on blacklist/whitelisting websites into categories, and you then block/allow categories one by one.

At least the MS-ISA resident version we use here does.
