Microsoft paid Be, Inc. $23,250,000 to avoid going to trial on antitrust violations. Be was destroyed by Microsoft’s antitrust violations. Be sued Microsoft after selling all assets to Palm Inc. Microsoft gave them approximately 1/1739th of their cash reserve to drop their lawsuit. Be accepted, calling the offer fair. Be, Inc. is now completely, utterly, and totally dead, and Dan can move on to other concerns.

Be updated their web page by adding a new paragraph talking about the SEATTLEMENT:
http://www.beincorporated.com/
Don’t you just love the fact that they slipped this in late in the day on a Friday?
Sounds like Be is just going to wrap things up and hand out the money to shareholders. No mention of a further vote of the shareholders on what they could possibily do with the money.

That link on The Register is dead. Would love to know why.

The link has an extra “)” — just delete the “)” and the link is good.

“No mention of a further vote of the stockholders on what they could possibily do with the money.”
Why would stockholders need to vote on what to do with their money? You just divide it up fairly and each stockholder can decide for herself.
