Teldar has updated beserved, their network based, BeOS native filesystem. This is similar to windows smb/cifs or “everything else” nfs shares, only they are BeOS native and include query and attribute support, etc. In otherwords, it lets you share bfs volumes over networks natively. Not a bad deal. And a darn useful bit of tech to have around if you have a few servers around the house and want to access everything from whichever one you happen to be at. :)

    1.2 is working quite good.
The real discusting thing is that the Linux Shares, Windows Client Shares performs all better under communication with a BONED version of BeOS Client in BeServed than the sucker ‘Net_Server Client’.
    It is soo damned slow….
I Believe this is the nature of Net_Server, as we all know it seems to be the ’stepchild’ of former Be Engineers ;-) .
Recapitulating BeServed, there are quite a lot of features visable, which are still not developped…so we may look forward to it…
But honest, if you want to use it as a true replacement for samba or cifs shares - use BONE!
