AtheOS Fork puts BeOS API on Linux kernel – and its nearly ready.

Ok. so Bill Hayden may have just become the coolest person alive. He forked AtheOS 6 months ago, ported it to the linux kernel, and started porting BeOS apps. Anywhere that the AtheOS api differed from the Be API, he went the Be route. If a piece of Be software wont work, he changes the API, not the software. He is awaiting successful compilation of opentracker and opendeskbar before release. Anyone else think running tracker/deskbar on top of linux without x could be fun? Check his announcement here. OSNews has a story about it as well.
