So a friend of mine looking out for me, in light of my current situation, sent me this link for a BeOS job in San Diego from Dice.com.

Too bad I just purchased a house here in Denver and would loose out on a ton of cash if I relocated. Besides, I’m not all that of a programmer. Maybe one of you developers out there would be interested though. :)

Thought I’d add this quote from the job description too…. kinda “makes one say hmmmm”:

They are a subsidiary of one the world’s premier electronics companies. They are poised to be the leading provider of digital content, services and devices in the 21st Century. Must have BeOS experience.

    Wish I knew programming better…

    This is definitely interesting news.
Alot could be read into this. I just hope it means some larger companies are seeing BeOS as a market (wishful thinking I know).
Hope somebody takes the job and can let us know what’s up :)

    Sony in SD?

Sounds like a division of Sony to me.

According to one of Sony’s recent press releases, they are ‘repositioning’ the company to become THE provider digital media, yadda, yadda, yadda…

Maybe the speculation of may here is not unfounded. hmmm.

    Re: Sony in SD?

There was/is a company in norway who was/is searching for a BeOS developer. It is a audio production comany, they needed a dev. to write drivers to a laptop so they could use it with their audio equippment, since their audio-equip. and future tascam & sony products are running BeOS.

btw: under the BigBrother Live show on tv in Norway, you hear the sound of BeOS :)

    Sony, for BeIA

    This is probably for Sony.
But don’t get your hopes up about BeOS.
BeOS is the dev platform for BeIA and their APIs are probably extremely similar. So, it makes sense to look for someone with BeOS experience to work on BeIA.

Good too see they are hiring though. It means they are ramping up production :)

    Another Be-Sony Relationship?

This is highly possible. About 2-3weeks ago, Sony was putting an ad in the local Austin American-Statesman (Austin, TX) for a sysadmin-type position that will remotely monitor…their San Diego site! Although the position mentioned nothing about BeOS, it specifically mentioned SD. In fact, the ad may still be running as of 05/06/01; I’ll verify this in the morning when I can get my hands on the Sunday paper.
