BeEmulated, the definitive BeOS Emulation Site, yesterday ran an interview with Caz, the man responsible for tons of different BeOS based emulators. Its a good read, and has one of the strangest (and slightly disturbing) lines I have ever read, where Caz wishes for “an emulator which could simulate Heaven and Hell, so I could decide where I want to go when I die.”
SimAfterlife
A life after death emulator. Well, alright. 🙂
But what if one doesn’t assent to the judeo-christian concepts of heaven and hell? How then would I run such an application? Under a player condition such as this would it load in some other mode, perhaps functioning more as a game? And is a question about non-Microsoft OS emulators an appropriate followup to ask after such a statement? Hrm…
(Note: The above is comically rhetorical, and not meant to be taken seriously.)
But the interview is good, is perhaps a bit short. Would have been nice to see some discussion on technical hurdles he’s had to overcome to get his emulators to work (and perhaps mention of a few he hasn’t overcome or had to hack around). Interesting to find out he hasn’t really programmed in anything other than BeOS before.
Hell & Heaven – Black & White
Isn’t that what Black & White is simulating? A Heaven or Hell of your own creation?
Of course, there’s no BeOS version…

I think that’s what Windows 95 was supposed to represent.
Well, the hell part anyway… 😛
Lucasarts had a Heaven/Hell game right?
I was thinking that Lucasarts once released a game where you ran heaven or hell. Can’t remember though. Oh well. BeOS is close to the heaven part or it is atleast comparable to Philli Cheese snack cakes from the commercials. 🙂

Yeah, it was called Afterlife. I think it came out in 1996. Kind of like SimCity, except you built and ran heaven and hell. The website is still up…

Emulator for Supermodels
I would like to have an emulator that would support plugins for various supermodels. That way I could tell which one I would prefer to have my children (actually I don’t really want them to have my children I just want to practice with them… alot) 🙂
