umccullough and Katisu have been hard at work putting together a fresh, new Team Haiku website and it is now up and running for your use. Head on over and check them out. Some quick notes: with the re-newing of TeamHaiku.com, TeamHaiku.org reports that they will be pointing you to TeamHaiku.com from now on and it appears that the TeamHaiku.com site is a little sluggish at the moment but I am sure that will me fixed soon as well. Have fun!

The fantastic web development folks over at Haiku-OS.org have done a great job polishing up their website. Apparently this is the look they were working towards all along but were forced to put up the previous look in a hurry when their original webserver crashed. Hmm… re-decorating, that sounds like a good idea…

According to the latest news over at the Haiku-OS website, Bruno Albuquerque of OpenBFS fame has been working at Google for the past year and now has managed to get an audience with Google engineers to tout the goodness of Haiku. I am not sure where this will lead or what may come of this but if it brings in a couple of Google engineers to work on Haiku, even in their spare time because they like the project, that sounds great to us!

Better video for Haiku in VMWare

Lots of folks use VMWare to run Haiku in a sandbox type environment to see what progress has been made and such. The problem with doing this is that the video capabilities are limited because you can only Haiku in VESA mode. Koki has an article over on Haiku-OS.org that talks about how this is changing. Eric Petit is working on a video driver for Haiku that will allow it to work in VMWare and let the user change screen resolutions with rebooting among other things. Great work Eric, please keep it up!
